Bathroom Cabinet Redo

Hi!!! It's been a while! Ha. Well with the holidays and company time has flown by and we've been pretty busy around here. So the ol' blog has taken a back seat. I wanted to share that over the weekend I tackled my powder room bathroom cabinets. Now, my cabinets are that old oak look. So 1990! A few years ago I did my master bathroom and it looked phenomenal, and it still does. I used all of my old supplies so I didn't have to buy anything.

My supplies:
Sanding Block (Course)
Quart of Basic Primer
Quart of Semi-Gloss Olympic paint in Dark Granite
Thin Angled Paintbrush

So, I don't really have any before pictures b/c my hubby took off the doors before I could get a picture. This is the color of the cabinets before though.

Yuck, right?

First, I took my sanding block and gave it a good sanding of the doors and the vanity frame. I then wiped it with a damp cloth. Then, I primed the doors and the frame, roughly and not perfect. Once that was dry I applied two coats of the Dark Granite.

This is the old fashioned way, but it looks just as good!!!

Here is the final product! Excuse my pictures, as they are from my Droid.

What do you think? Even though the pics are eh...well...not good?

  1. Looks GREAT! I still love the job on the wallpaper, though, 90s or not. The cabinet color really updates the whole look.

Now whats this about the Droid? Your hubby dearest tells me its the end all and be all of smartphones. You tell him I still want an iPhone! hehehee.....
